Ace's Story

Ace is a 3-year-old Pit Bull Terrier, who came in emaciated from neglect and struggling with skin infections, as well as heartworm disease.

Ace has been selected as the first recipient of the Saoirse's Freedom Fund! This means he will be fast-tracked on the road to full medical recovery with all costs sponsored, and hopefully find him a forever new home promptly, that can give him the love and care he deserves.
____________________
The Saoirse's Freedom Fund supports the often mis-understood souls of Bully Breed dogs at Caloosa Humane Society to give them the best shot at a happy, forever home, proving they are loving companions.

This fund selects the most challenged candidates to help provide them needed medical, nutritional and behavioral support to get them prepared for loving new home. Once the adoptive family is identified, the fund will pay for the adoption fee and send the family home with all kinds of goodies to get them off to the best start in their new life! Supplies may include: crate, bed, food bowls, harness, leash, ID tag, toys, food and treats. Obedience training may also be included as needed.

Saoirse is an Irish name meaning "freedom or liberty" (pronounced Seer-sha). Saoirse's life was a powerful story of second chances. Once homeless and neglected, she spent two years waiting to Caloosa Humane Society to find her handler, Cindy. From that moment on Saoirse's journey transformed into one filled with purpose, love and service. For four years with United Way's Beesley Paw Prints Therapy Dog Program, Saoirse touched countless lives. She completed more than 800 therapy visits, helped evaulate more than 117 therapy dog teams and earned 7 AKC titles, including the prestigious Therapy Dog Supreme. She showed up again and again with quiet patience, acceptance and joy, bringing comfort to children and families when they needed it most. Known for her expressive ears, her love of dressing up and her gentle presence, Saoirse reminded us that healing often comes without words. She was an ambassador for shelter dogs everywhere and a beautiful example of how love and compassion can truly change lives.

Saoirse's Legacy will live on through her Freedom Fund at Caloosa Humane Society helping other bully breeds not only survive, but to thrive!

You can donate to this fund to help Ace and other Bully Breeds at CHS! Your donations save lives!
