Ace's Story

Ace is a 7 year old, neutered male, rat terrier. He is about 1lbs. This sweet little guy has an eye problem called P.R.A. (progressive retinal atrophy). As a result he has lost about 90% of his vision and will eventually be totally blind. This is a genetic condition that cannot be reversed by surgery. Thankfully, dogs have an unbelievable sense of smell and this will allow Ace to lead a relatively normal life. He will need to learn the layout of his new home and it will be helpful if his new family does not move the furniture around. Gates at the stairs would be recommended to prevent Ace from falls. He would fair best in a quiet adult home. He is otherwise healthy and up to date with his shots. He likes other dogs but would do best in a home on his own or with an patient, older, large dog that won't mind Ace bumping into him/her occasionally. Cats are not recommended. He will be able to go for walks on quiet streets, always on a leash as he could easily wander out into the street. If you are willing to give this lovely boy a warm lap to cuddle up on please call us to find out more or go to our website www.adoptadogsavealife.com to fill out an online application.

Contact information:
Adopt-a-Dog/Save-a-Life
Toronto, ON
Phone: 416-787-3862
