Acacia's Story
Hi, my name is Acacia! I’m a young mixed-breed dog looking for my forever match. To start, you should know that I’m incredibly affectionate. I adore human contact and will naturally snuggle up to just about anyone from the very first meeting. I’m gentle, calm, and well-balanced, with a fairly moderate energy level for my age. I’m also very sensitive to the emotions of the humans around me.

When it comes to training, I learn at my own pace. I find basic commands a bit harder to grasp and need lots of repetition before they really sink in. I’m comfortable in my crate—it’s my little safe space—but I’m not okay staying there for more than an hour if no one is home. I’m definitely a velcro dog: you change rooms? I’ll follow you!

I’m getting better and better in the city! My leash walking has improved significantly over time. Without distractions, I walk quite well, but I still react when I see other dogs because I’d really like to say hello! Personal space isn’t a concept I fully understand yet, and I do enjoy jumping, so that’s something we’ll need to keep working on.

The home I’m looking for: ideally, a family with another playful, cuddly dog. I’d love to live in the countryside, but a quiet suburban area would suit me too. I need humans who are very present at home, because since I was abandoned, I’m not used to being alone for long periods. This will need to be evaluated gradually to see how I cope with longer absences.

I’m no longer contagious with parvovirus, and my urinary issues have been treated. I don’t have any special long-term needs—I’m now in great shape! Are you the human who’ll have the chance to continue this new adventure by my side?

Important note: I absolutely must live in a city that allows all dog breeds, as I know some ban dogs like me based on my appearance…
