He came from a hoarding situation where he did not get much one-on-one attention, petting, or handling, so new experiences can be scary for him at first. We think Abhi is about 4 years old; he weighs only 10 lbs.<br/><br/>Abhi is doing really well in his foster home. He LOVES his foster mom, and follows her around everywhere. He asks to cuddle and snooze on her lap. He was more anxious around his foster dad, but he's gotten much more comfortable.<br/><br/>Abhi is living with 6 other dogs and is fine and respectful with them all. He is just now starting to play with dogs; we don't think he ever had a play experience before so he's learning how. Abhi has discovered toys and loves to empty the toy box. He likes being outside, checking out the yard. He's enjoying leash walks in the neighborhood - w<br/><br/>e don't think he ever had the opportunity to go for walks until now.<br/><br/>Abhi is still working on house training, but he's been doing very well recently. He will need a patient adopter or foster willing to continue to help him learn.<br/><br/>Abhi has met a cat in his previous rescue home and was fine. He would thrive in a home with a canine companion or as an only dog, and with older, considerate children who understand giving him space. He does let the neighborhood first-graders pet and hold him.<br/><br/>Abhi is truly a sweet little guy who just needs time, love, and reassurance to blossom. With patience, he will reward you with companionship and a heart full of gratitude.<br/><br/>Abhi is up to date on vaccines, and has been neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $450.<br/><br/>Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption.
