Abel's Story

Meet Abel
Abel may be big in size, but he’s even bigger in heart. This sweet boy is a total lovebug who wants nothing more than to be close to his human. He does have a bit of separation anxiety, but that’s only because he bonds deeply and loves his people with his whole soul.
Abel is quick to potty, has fast recall, and is surprisingly smart — he picks up new things quickly and is always curious about the world around him. He’s picky about treats, but he’ll never turn down a good collagen chew or really any chew toy. He gives the sweetest kisses and even gentle “hugs,” which perfectly match his tender personality.
He enjoys car rides, loves being near his person, and naturally carries himself like a protector. With dogs, he can be selective — he’s good with many, but he would thrive best as the only dog in the home where he can have all the love and attention to himself.
Abel was saved from the euthanasia list in Houston, Texas, and he has been nothing but grateful and affectionate toward every human he meets. He will stay loyal, protective, and loving to the family who opens their home to him.
All of our dogs come from high-risk Texas shelters and can be safely transported to their forever families.
If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will treasure you, Abel is your boy.
