Abel's Story

Abel has been in foster since August 2023. The minute he arrived it was like he was always here, no decompression time really.

Abel likes to hop like a bunny when he's excited! His favorite skill to show off is SPIN! He is potty trained, loves to play, a snuggle bug, loves butt scratches, is very smart (also stubborn sometimes!) and knows sit and spin. Abel is a great loose leash walker and is not reactive to other dogs. He also loves the cold weather!!

He can be left by himself for hours out in the house, and his foster parents have left him as long as 8 hours, with no problems. Abel is nondestructive and usually sleeps the whole time.

Abel has not had a play date with other dogs, but there are dogs on all 3 sides of his foster home and he runs the fence with them wagging his tail and barking. There's also chickens and Abel shares the yard with them in the late afternoon to dark and they pay no attention to each other.

Abel is a loyal friend to all once he meets you! He needs a slow and steady courtship with meeting new people, but is easily won over with treats and butt scratches. Once you're his friend, you're a friend for life!!
