The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.
Phone interviews do not take place til after an approved application is on file and we have a possible match for your home

Hi! My name is Abby! I am 7 years old and weigh 20 pounds, I need a new home because I was released from a breeder. I am being fostered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

I am an active girl with lots of fun energy! I’m discovering a whole new life with my foster family! My foster mom tells me all the time what a quick learner I am. I especially love the doggy door because I can head outside to play in the yard with my three Boston siblings, and take care of my “business” too! I love exploring and checking out every corner of the yard!

I have beautiful, shiny black fur with just the right amount of white for contrast. I’m not much of a barker—I’m a lover! I haven’t met a person or dog I didn’t want to spend time with. I’m not sure what a cat is, but the squirrels in the yard are absolutely fascinating! As much as I enjoy playing, my favorite thing in the world is snuggling with my humans. The closer I can be, the better. I’ve mainly been around teenagers and adults, but I feel like I could have lots of love for humans big or small.

Crates and kennels cause me a lot of anxiety, and I may try to chew my way out. The good news is that my foster mom lets me roam the house while she is away, and I’m a perfect lady. If you have a fenced yard, I’ll need a fence at least 4 feet tall because I have been known to jump when I’m outside and get excited.

I’m hoping for people who understand that I’m a true Velcro dog and want to be near a human—any human—almost 24 hours a day, even if we’re simply relaxing in the same room. Knowing you’re close helps me feel safe and reassured. If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow and a devoted snuggle buddy, I might be the girl for you!

Here's a little more about me:
Housetrained? Working on it and doing well
Leash-trained? Working on it; I tend to lie down and refuse to move.
Rides well in a car? Yes
Good with other dogs?
Good with cats? Not yet tested
Good with young children? Good with older children
Good with strangers? Yes
Shy or confident? shy but gaining confidence
Barks? Very little
Apartment qualified? No, I need a fenced yard
Any Special needs or Health Issues? No
Adoption Fee? $ 325

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at ''https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.

All our dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption.

MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. We do not accept invisible fencing.

MABTR only adopts to families residing in NE, CO, MO, KS, IA, WY, SD, ND, ID, UT, MT, MN, and NW AR due to the lack of volunteer support in other states, no exception even if you are willing to drive.

If you are Interested in Adoption please complete our online adoption application at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application

Petfinder's form is NOT our application.
