Abby's Story
UPDATE 8/30/05
Abby is doing great. She has had a complete body shave to remove her hair mats. She has lost 4 lb:-) Her eye ulcer has healed. Her ears are still being treated. Her senior bloodwork and thyroid screening looked great, but she is heartworm positive. She has been vaccinated and dewormed. We have gotten to know her a little better and she gets along well with dogs and cats. Abby is very gentle and very sweet.
She still has a little ways to go with her medical care and treatment, but her personality can't get any sweeter. Please consider adopting this great dog.

Abby came to us today (8/23/05) to be put to sleep because she is old. Although she is a senior pet, we think she is only 7 or 8 years old. She is an extremely gentle and affectionate dog. She loves to roll over and have her belly rubbed. She does not jump and will make a great companion.
What we know so far is that she is overweight and has intestinal parasites. She has a scratch on her left eye, which we are treating. A complete senior blood panel, heartworm testing, dental cleaning, arthritis screening, thyroid screening, vaccines and deworming, grooming, and treatment for her ear and eye infection are necessary prior to her adoption. The pictures do not show her true beauty as her hair is severely matted and dirty (pictures were taken the day she arrived).
Please consider adopting this very sweet girl. She is already crate trained, leash trained, and house trained. If you can devote the next few years of your life to making it the best years of Abby's life, please e-mail us at jbpetvet@hotmail.com to fill out an application for adoption.
