Abby's Story

Introducing Abby, a well-behaved four-year-old Sheltie, looking for a family to shower her with love, pets, and a comfortable bed to sleep on. Abby has been through upheaval in her young life. A wonderful woman waited a long time to find Abby. Just when life was sailing along, the woman passed away unexpectedly. Abby was taken in by a family member who has tried her best to make Abby happy. The family member admits that she is not a dog person, but she has done research on how to care for this breed of dog. Sadly, the hectic life with children and their extracurricular activities means that Abby stays at home most of the day and into the evening. While at home, she lives with a cat. The two of them get along well together. There has never been any issues between the two of them. The people realize that Abby is not getting the structure and exercise she needs. And then, last year, she was attacked by another dog and was taken to the vet for stitches. The result is she is extremely shy around other dogs. She avoids them.

In spite of all the unfortunate events, Abby loves her people. She attended basic obedience class, doing well. She knows many of the basic commands. She responds well when asked to come back or leave something. Abby is a willing learner. She needs the chance to show her new family just how smart she is. Abby does not bark excessively; she does bark when people knock on the door which is common. She has not tried to herd or nip the four children she lives with. If you know the breed, she is ideal just waiting for someone to help her be herself.

Abby is up-to-date on all shots appropriate for her age: Lepto, Borellia, 3-year Rabies shot, Lymes, etc. She is spayed and house broken. She is microchipped.

Abby comes with her AKC certified pedigree showing her lineage. Pictures of her as a young puppy, and the card with her basic obedience traits checked off.

If you feel you can offer Abby the love, security, exercises, and continued leadership she craves, please go to pawswi.com and complete the application. After completion of the application, a representative will reach out to speak to you about a beautiful dog named Abby.

Abby's adoption fee is $500.
