Abby's Story

Hi there! I'm an adorable, 86-pound furball who absolutely loves food and people. When I first got to my foster home, I was a bit skeptical of people and sudden moves freaked me out. But now, I've learned that most people are pretty cool and just want me to love on them. I'm sweet as can be, and I adore petting—don't stop or I'll annoy you to no end! I've also mastered the 'go lay down' command and I'm pretty good about following it.
I'm a big fan of going on walks, though there are a few things I'm not too keen on. Fast-moving objects like runners, bikers, and motorcycles make me nervous, so watch out! And if we encounter another dog on our walk, you'll see me getting a bit anxious. I also really love car rides!
I'm okay with my crate, especially if you entice me with a treat. I might whine a bit, but once you leave, I'll settle down. Just remember, the crate is for when you're gone—otherwise, I'm happy to be out and about.
My foster mom doesn't let me sleep on the bed, and while I understand, I've been known to sneak onto the couch when she's not looking (shh, don't tell her!).
There are a couple of things I really don't like: the vacuum and the lawnmower. I think they're out to get me.
But overall, I'm a loving and loyal companion who's always ready for some affection and a good walk (as long as we avoid those fast-moving and four-legged things)!

Abby is available for adoption in the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex.
