ABBY's Story
Breed Terrier
Age 4
Weight 10 lbs
Adoption Fee $225

**Meet Abby**

Abby came to us through the local animal shelter after experiencing a terrible ordeal. She had been attacked by other dogs and left on the streets. A kind Samaritan found her and brought her to Animal Control, who then transported her to a veterinarian for treatment.

Abby's injuries were severe, requiring stitches and surgical drains. The shelter put out an urgent plea for a safe place where she could rest and recover, and that's when Abby came into our care.

When she first arrived, Abby understandably trusting only a few volunteers. Everything around her was new, and it was believed she was still in shock from her traumatic experience. Some of her medications also left her feeling a bit disoriented. We quickly scheduled an appointment with our veterinarian, who adjusted her medications and helped make her more comfortable. As she began to heal, Abby slowly started opening up to more volunteers and settling into life at ARF.

There were a few setbacks along the way, including an additional procedure to replace her drains due to fluid buildup, but Abby handled it all like a champion.

Today, Abby is thriving. She is kennel trained and willingly goes into her kennel when asked. She keeps her kennel clean, so we expect the transition to full house training to be relatively easy. Abby would do best in a home with older children who understand the importance of giving her space and allowing her to approach them on her own terms.

Abby is estimated to be around 4 years old. She has been spayed, is fully healed, and is ready to begin her next chapter. She currently shares a yard with other dogs and does well with dogs her size. Because we don't know the size of the dogs involved in her attack, a home with dogs her size or smaller may be the best fit.

Her personality is best described as laid-back, gentle, and easygoing. Abby is a quiet girl who enjoys simply being near the people she trusts.

If you're looking to give a deserving underdog the loving forever home, she's been waiting for, Abby may be the perfect match for you.

Breed Terrier
Age 4
Weight 10 lbs
Adoption Fee $225

At this time ARF does not adopt out of state.

How to Adopt a Dog from ARF
Animal Rescue of Fresno is a Volunteer Managed & Operated Dog Rescue.
We are available by Appointment Only.
Adoptions begin with an Approved Application you can find the application at our website at www.arf-fresno.com

Application can be found in the drop-down menu above, click "ADOPT"
Mobile users click three lines at top of page to see "ADOPT"
Business Hours: By Appointment Only

We will review each submitted application, then contact the approved adopter via email.
