Abby's Story

Meet Abby – Your Oversized Shadow
Location: Cedar Park, TX
DOB: 12/14/2017

Abby is the ultimate Velcro dog. Wherever you are, she wants to be right there beside you. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch or moving around the house, Abby will happily follow along. She is incredibly affectionate and loves to give hugs, often forgetting just how big she is.

At heart, Abby is a true couch potato. She enjoys short bursts of play, complete with adorable morning zoomies, but she is perfectly content lounging for most of the day. A backyard is more than sufficient for her exercise needs—she is not looking for long walks or high activity, just a comfortable home and someone to love.

Abby would do best as the only dog or with a very submissive, easygoing larger dog. She has lived with another female dog and generally does well but prefers to have her space and can have a dominant personality. She is not a good fit for a home with cats.

She has been around young children and does well, though loud or chaotic environments can make her nervous. A calmer home or one with older, respectful children would be ideal.

Abby rides well in the car and is fully housetrained. She is not leash trained, but since she is content with backyard time, frequent walks are not necessary. She does well behind a baby gate and does not require a crate.

Medically, Abby has difficulty gaining weight and will require lifelong eye drops twice daily due to chronic dry eye related to previous cherry eye issues. She tolerates her care well and simply needs a committed family to continue managing her condition.

Abby is looking for a calm, loving home with a comfortable couch and someone who wants a constant companion. If you are ready for a devoted, affectionate dog who will always be by your side, Abby may be the perfect match.

For adoption applications and additional information, please visit:
https://linktr.ee/Srgdrr

Team Rocky Enterprises, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
How Our Adoption Process Works Team Rocky Enterprises DBA Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab (SRGDRR) follows a thoughtful adoption process designed to ensure the best possible match for both our dogs and their future families. Our available dogs are posted on our website, Facebook page, and multiple adoption platforms, including Petfinder. Once you find a dog you’re interested in, the process includes: 1. Adoption Application – This helps us learn about you, your household, and what you’re looking for in a dog so we can make the best match. 2. Veterinary Reference Check – We verify that current or past pets have received appropriate veterinary care. First-time pet owners are welcome and encouraged to apply. 3. Phone Interview – This is a chance for us to talk with you about the dog you’re interested in, including personality, needs, medical history, and any quirks. It’s also your opportunity to ask questions about the dog and our rescue. 4. Home Check – We confirm that your home environment is safe and appropriate for the dog, whether that includes a fenced yard or a leash-walking setup. This is not a housekeeping inspection—just a safety check. Once all steps are completed and approved, you’ll sign an adoption contract and submit an adoption donation. From there, your new forever friend will be ready to head home! Why This Process Matters Our goal is to match each dog with a home that best meets their needs. Some dogs thrive with experienced owners, while others do best with someone who is home most of the day or understands specific behavioral or medical needs. Taking the time to get this right helps ensure lifelong, successful adoptions. Our Lifetime Commitment If at any point you are unable to keep your adopted dog, you must contact us. We will always take our dogs back. We never want them to end up in unsafe situations or shelters again. Our responsibility to each dog lasts for their lifetime. Thank you for choosing rescue and for considering adoption with SRGDRR.
