Abba's Story

Abba is looking for a home! Don’t be fooled by her look and the pics, this young girl is just 20 lbs and perhaps the friendliest dog her foster has ever met (and she's met ALOT). Abba was rescued on the outskirts of Puerto Vallarta by a kind woman who saw Abba as a very young puppy, and her siblings scavenging for garbage. Abba has lived with her rescuer for her first year of life. Abba lives with cats and dogs, and is very playful and affectionate with people and animals alike. She is higher energy so she's up for adventure. She’s not much of a barker and she’s house trained. She isn’t a fan of the loud trucks and motorcycles that trundle down the dirt roads. As for her breed – our best guess is lab x collie x chihuahua, but it’s a guess. Her foster calls her a ‘mini lab’. Abba is house trained, spayed and healthy. You know how Abba songs make you bounce with happiness - that's the vibe that Abba gives.

She is looking for foster, foster to adopt or adoption options before flights stop for the summer months. Please email us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com if you think you might be a fit (please check your junk / spam in case we’re redirected).

PVCA Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Our sister organization, the SPCA Puerto Vallarta, has a sanctuary, staff, trainer and medical team who work with the dogs and cats until they are deemed "adoptable". Once they pass their health exams, which include blood tests which certify they are able to cross borders, they are transported to Canada and/or the United States and enter foster or permanent homes. All our animals come sterilized, and fully vaccinated and dewormed. Our organization relies on the caring volunteers who open their homes and foster the animals until they are adopted. We do not have a sanctuary or shelter in Canada or the United States. Visits must be arranged and we prefer an adoption application to be filled out and approved before visitation.
