946 (2026) Sunny's Story

Adoption Fee: $475

When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped!

What we know: Litter of three surrendered by a local family who did not have the resources to care for the puppies. Puppies are from an accidental litter and reportedly, many dogs from several litters before them are living with the family. The family continues to have accidental litters because they cannot afford spay/neuter. CPR is working with the family to determine how many dogs are present in the home, if they need to surrender any more, and scheduling spay and neuter appointments that will be paid for by CPR to stop the cycle.

**Puppy 946, named Sunny while in rescue care, has a prolapse of the gland of the third eyelid, commonly known as cherry eye. This was not repaired at the time of her scheduled spay appointment. Because Sunny was already placed under anesthesia for her spay, we did not want to put her back under anesthesia again so soon for an additional procedure.

Her cherry eye will need to be surgically corrected after adoption. Colorado Puppy Rescue will cover the cost of the cherry eye repair at Barker Road Veterinary Clinic in Aurora, Colorado. The procedure will need to be scheduled in coordination with her adopters and must be completed within the first year of her life, although the sooner it can be corrected, the better**

From the foster: Sunny is a big ball of fire in a tiny body! She's a spicy girl that will make sure you know she's there. She loves to play. She loves people and barely notices how much smaller she is than the much larger resident puppy in her foster home.

Sunny is in a puppy pen with her two siblings at night and when left alone. She hasn't started crate training but she is pretty reliable at using puppy pads to go potty. If you're looking for a queen that is ready to rule your world- look no further than Sunny!

www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
