669 (2026) Lexi's Story
Adoption Fee: $475

When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped!

What we know: Originally adopted from CPR as a puppy in 2025 (puppy 212, litter numbers 212-216). Returned at ~1.5 years because the adopter said she did not bond with the dog.

From the foster: Honestly, I'm a little dazed and confused about how this girl finds herself searching for a family again. At just a year and a half old, she should be settled into a lifetime of love, but here she is, hoping for someone willing to see the incredible dog she already is.

She is gentle, respectful, and full of quiet potential. Life has clearly taught her to be cautious at times. New environments, unfamiliar flooring, and transitions can make her pause and freeze while she figures things out. But if you give her patience and let her move at her own pace, she always finds the courage to take that next step. Before long, she's laying at your feet, happy just to be near you.

On walks, she's an absolute delight. She walks politely on leash without pulling, approaching the world with excited curiosity rather than chaos. Other dogs don't seem to interest her much-she simply carries on with her day. When people pass, she will sit politely on command and wait. Children, however, are a different story. She lights up when she sees them and clearly enjoys their presence.

She loves a good game of fetch and already knows the rules. Throw the toy, she'll bring it right back to your feet, sit politely, and wait for the next toss. She's eager to please without being demanding.

She's kennel trained, sleeps quietly through the night, is potty trained, and loves car rides. In many ways, she's the easy part. What she needs most is someone who understands that confidence grows through kindness, consistency, and time.

This sweet girl isn't looking for perfection. She's looking for her people-someone who will love her unconditionally, celebrate her victories, and give her the security she's been searching for. With patience and understanding, there's no doubt she will continue to blossom into the amazing dog she's meant to be.

If you've got room in your heart for a gentle soul who just needs someone to believe in her, she may be exactly who you've been looking for.

www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
