668 (2026) Stewie's Story

Adoption Fee: $475

When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped!

What we know: 8 puppies (6m, 2f) out of a litter of 9 transferred from the Animal Services Center of Mesilla Valley in New Mexico at ~8 weeks old. The family was found living under a trailer home when the puppies were very young. These puppies were held due to URI symptoms but Mama (603 - Penny) and asymptomatic and separated 9th puppy (604 - Mabel) were transferred to CPR ~2 weeks earlier to avoid euthanasia.

From the foster: Puppy #668, Stewie, has been going by the Stewster at our house! You could just call him a heart throb if you must! Stewie doesn't quite understand how good looking he is though! This boy is just living his best life but he has a magnetic force that makes you want to pick him up and give him all the kisses. He melts in your arms and wonders what all the fuss about him is! He is obsessively cute with that brown patch over his eye. He has the best markings with the white and tan fur. He has short stubby tail that gives him the finishing touches to his charm. Stewie is camera shy though! As soon as you go to take the best photo ever, he moves instantly reminding you that this is not his favorite activity!
Let's talk about Stewie isms , shall we! Stewie is not used all the attention, that is for sure! He is a little shy and reserved and does not want to be in the limelight after shelter life. But this move to Colorado is starting to have its perks he is beginning to realize. When taken outside, he froze! Absolutely melted and played statue for as long as possible. Now, he is romping, exploring, chewing on leaves and has declared the deck a safe zone. Next challenge will be the grass! He loves to play with toys and romp with his brothers once he knows it is ok! He will come for a snuggle, lay beside me, and miss me when I am gone. He has figured out the bath and got a five star review on that. He is not really picking up on potty training yet but there is so much to figure out! We will give him a hot minute on that one. He is timid with other dogs although interested and would be kid friendly (statue mode once again).
Stewie is finding his groove and realizing that we have all the love to give him! He is infectious and has a personality that is slowing coming out! He is 100% the best boy and will just aim to please you! Come meet this boy and in seconds your heart will fall in love!

www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
