573 (2026) Sweetie Pie's Story
Adoption Fee: $475

When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped!

What we know: Group of 4 dogs consisting of 3 littermates and 1 single dog transferred from Littlefield Pet Haven in Texas. The group had originally been pulled from a euthanasia list at the last minute, however the individual who rescued them unexpectedly passed away, leaving the dogs in the care of an elderly couple who ultimately felt unable to continue their care.

From the foster: Sweetie Pie's name fits her well!

First and foremost, Sweetie Pie is a people person and does not shy away from strangers. She enjoys the company of humans and is game for any activity be it a ride in the car, errands, walks or just chillin on the couch. She is a confident girl with low anxiety. A yard with a fence would be best, she does have some pray instincts and likes to chase bunnies and squirrels. That being said, a home with cats may not work well for her. Also, Sweetie Pie would fare well in a home with children steady on their feet or okay with being knocked over. She loves to give hugs, so an "off" reminder is accepted and understood, but she sometimes forgets and just needs a little reminder. She is not food motivated but is praise motivated. She always wants to do the right thing and knows basic commands like "sit, down, stay, off, leave it and come". She does not beg at the table, she will come and acknowledge you and then go find a place to lay down. She is one 100% potty trained. Her house manners are perfect, she doesn't get into anything she isn't supposed to. She is not a fan of the crate, but at 4 years old she probably doesn't need to be in a crate anymore. She loves walks, but her nose takes over and she gets excited to get to the next smell, a harness with a front lead might help her slow down. Leash training would be beneficial.

Ready for a sweet companion to bring joy and wiggles? Come meet Sweetie Pie.

www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
