569 (2026) Dixie's Story

Adoption Fee: $475

When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped!

What we know: Litter of 10 puppies, originally part of a litter of 14, found at approximately 2 months old in Texas. While in the care of another rescue, the litter slowly began breaking with parvo and sadly 3 puppies ultimately passed away. One puppy was transferred to another rescue, while the remaining 10 puppies were transferred into our care at approximately 4.5-5 months old.

From the foster: Meet Dixie, a shy sweetheart with a playful side just waiting to shine!

Dixie is a 5-month-old puppy who may be a little reserved when you first meet her, but once she feels safe, her sweet and playful personality really comes out. She's quickly learning that people are kind and the world isn't so scary, and each day she grows more confident and curious.

Once comfortable, Dixie loves to play and has plenty of typical puppy energy. She's still learning her basics and would do best in a patient, understanding home that can help guide her through all the "firsts" of puppyhood. She is not yet fully potty trained and will need continued support in that area. A big fenced in yard would be the perfect space for her to run and play.

Dixie is doing well with crate training and sleeps peacefully in her kennel at night. She is also learning leash manners and enjoys going on walks as she builds confidence outside.

She would thrive in a home with another friendly, well-balanced dog who can help show her the ropes and match her playful energy. A calm, structured environment will help her continue to blossom into the confident dog she's meant to be.

If you're ready to watch a gentle, shy pup grow into a joyful companion, come meet Dixie!

www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
