44 (2026) Colonel's Story
Adoption Fee: $475

When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped!

What we know: Came to CPR as a local Co surrender, pup was found as a stray 3 months ago and the finders were not able to find his owners after searching for months, finders were leaving the state and could no longer hold onto him so they surrendered. He was not fixed or vaccinated when he came into our care.

From the foster: Meet Colonel, puppy #44, 6lbs of tiny Terrier mix energy with a big boss personality. A former stray, he's still learning the ropes of indoor life and needs a patient, adult-only home that can provide firm but kind leadership. While he is crate and potty trained, he still likes to mark his territory, so he's currently rocking belly bands as he transitions into his new routine. Neutering should definitely help with this! While he loves being picked up, held, and sitting in your lap, he does like to get his way and has nipped to set boundaries, making him a perfect match for an experienced owner who understands that while he a "purse dog" he still is a terrier who has a ton of energy and needs a job and exercise. While he is fine with other dogs, I think he would do best in a single dog house, or with another dog of similar or small- medium size! If you're looking for a small commander to lead your household, Colonel is ready to report for duty!

www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
