326 (2026) Mama Elsa's Story
Adoption Fee: $475

When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped!

What we know: Mom and four puppies transferred from Second Chance Dog Rescue in TX. Mom gave birth to four puppies outdoors and the finders couldn't keep them. Transferred to CPR with Mama aged at 1 year, puppies at just under 3 months (3F, 1M).

From the foster: It's finally Elsa's turn to have some fun and be a puppy. Elsa is a 1 year old who has raised at least one litter of puppies already. She was a star mom who, because of her dedication, raised healthy puppies while living outside.

Elsa makes strides every day at her foster home. She is enjoying her foster sister and now initiates play (even if sister says she'd rather sunbathe)! She walks nicely on a leash, stopping to smell all the new smells and taking in the scenery. She rides beautifully in a car and is fully potty trained.

Bonus! Did I say Elsa sleeps through the night? In a crate next to her human, she understands that it's time to sleep until awakened by her person for the morning.

Elsa can be cautious in new situations and it will take time for her to build confidence, but this is happening at a rapid pace in her foster home. When new people come into the home, she is reticent but quietly notices who's there. Her foster home has seen no aggression at all, just a desire to get to know her new life and snuggle up for some head pets and maybe use a lap or two.

Elsa would do best in a house without cats. She normally just stares with interest at the foster home's cat, but recently thought it might be fun to chase her-oops!

Elsa likes to be with her people and her foster sister, only occasionally seeming anxious if she is alone. Elsa likes bones as well as fun things she finds in her foster home, like socks! We keep bones available to curb her puppy behavior. When she has a nice walk and time outside, she easily retreats to the couch to nap.

She's been known to sniff out some Chick Fil A on a counter and help herself to it-yum! She responded to foster mom speaking sternly about it. She is food motivated which will help with her training.

Elsa is a sweet girl who just wants to be a puppy for the first time. Are you the home that can help her finally relax and get the love and security she deserves? Don't miss out on this sweet girl.

www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
