Meet Grumpy!<br/><br/>He had a bit of a rough start to life when his mama, Snow White, gave birth to him and his 6 siblings under a house in Dallas during a heat wave. Through the tremendous efforts of independent rescue women, they were able to crawl under the house and rescue the whole family. While in their foster home, they grew to be happy and healthy puppies. Grumpy and his siblings have been successfully weaned from mama Snow White, and are off on their new adventures and experiences.<br/><br/>Grumpy has really come out of his shell and gained so much confidence in his new foster home. He went from running inside when something startled him to following the big dogs around to investigate what they were up to. He quickly became friends with DSDA alum Merlin and his other foster siblings.<br/><br/>Despite his name, there is absolutely NOTHING grumpy about this boy. He is gentle, curious, affectionate and an absolute cuddle bug. He loves being held, gives the sweetest little kisses, and has even started wrapping his tiny paws around his foster family for hugs.<br/><br/>Of course, he's still very much a baby, with plenty of puppy mischief and a surprisingly tough little play persona.<br/><br/>Grumpy has almost accomplished a big milestone: potty training! He has been training for weeks and is showing tremendous progress!<br/><br/>We estimate this litter was born around August 6. Mama Snow White is a Shepherd/Husky Mix, so we're estimating Grumpy and his siblings will grow to around her size. <br/><br/> <br/><br/>Interested in meeting Grumpy? All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption! <br/><br/>* Adoption Fees:<br/><br/>Puppies (12 months and under) - $325 <br/><br/>Dogs (over 12 months) - $275 <br/><br/>Qualifications for Adoption: No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs. <br/><br/><br/> Must be home more than not.<br/> Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions. <br/> Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address.<br/> Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household.<br/> Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting.<br/> Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet.<br/> Must have a secure fence if in a house.<br/> All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard. <br/> DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas.
