NEEDS ADOPTER OR FOSTER!!<br/>Dalton was abandoned with his buddy, Danika, in 02/2026 and found living in an abandoned home. We believe they were loved once as they are very loving and familar with a leash and riding in a car, even seeing the vet, are house trained and know simple commands ! The pair is rescued and are together in a temporary foster home. They had already been micrichipped (not registered), spayed and neutered and are heartworm negative!<br/> <br/><br/>We are looking for a calm foster even foster-to-adopt home for them together OR separate. Dalton is as sweet as he looks in his pictures and healthy for a 6 to 7 year old shepherd mix.<br/><br/>We think Dalton abd Danika will easily fit into most any loving home or homes and be fine together or separate. <br/><br/> <br/><br/>To meet Dalton in person visit us at www.dsda.org/foster and submit our online adoption application. <br/> <br/><br/>WHEN YOU FOSTER- we provide all the supplies and any medical care still needed such as boosters and monthly heartworm/flea/tick prevention! <br/><br/>ADOPTION FEE Covers: Core vaccines plus Lepto and Flu, all boosters, microchip, dewormer until clear fecal test & spay or neuter when completed by a DSDA vet partner plus any necessary medical care. All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption! <br/><br/>* Adoption Fees:<br/><br/>Puppies (12 months and under) - $325 <br/><br/>Dogs (over 12 months) - $275 <br/><br/>Qualifications for Adoption: No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs. <br/><br/><br/> Must be home more than not.<br/> Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions. <br/> Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address.<br/> Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household.<br/> Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting.<br/> Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet.<br/> Must have a secure fence if in a house.<br/> All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard. <br/> DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas.
