2154 Roxy's Story

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS

FENCED YARD
AGE APPROPRIATE CANINE COMPANION

Meet Roxy!

If second chances had a mascot, it would probably be Roxy.

Roxy is a 19 month old, 50 pound German Shepherd mix who spent the first 18 months of her life thinking the world was...well...pretty boring. No adventures. No training. No vet care. No toys. No preventatives. Very little attention. Then one day, her owner dumped her on a neighbors property. Lucky for Roxy, that neighbor just happened to be involved in rescue. Talk about accidentally hitting the jackpot.

Since then, Roxy has been making up for lost time with Olympic-level enthusiasm.

Shes discovered treats (10/10, highly recommends), zoomies in the yard, soft beds, coming inside whenever she wants, other dogs, cats, and humans who actually think shes pretty amazing. Every day brings something new, and shes soaking it all up like a giant furry sponge.

At bedtime, shes happy to snooze in her crate like the good girl she is. During the day while her foster mom is at work? She files a formal complaint with the management. Shes still learning that being home alone isnt the end of the world, and shes making progress.

Roxy also believes hugs should be mandatory. She sometimes greets people by gently launching herself upward to wrap you in a shepherd-sized embrace. Personal space is still a work in progress, but her heart is absolutely in the right place. Shes also practicing her kissing technique and improving every day.

Shes now spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, on monthly preventatives, and after treatment for a severe full-body yeast skin infection, her beautiful coat is growing back in. Shes feeling healthier, happier, and discovering what its like to finally be cared for.

Roxy would love a home with:
A large, securely fenced yard for maximum zoomie potential.
Another playful dog her size who enjoys wrestling and running.
Cats? Surprisingly, shes happy to share her home with them too!
A patient family willing to teach her the things nobody ever took the time to before.

Because of her size and excitement, tiny humans might accidentally get bowled over by her enthusiastic greetings, so a home without small children would probably be the best fit.

Shes still polishing up her leash manners, but shes smart, eager to learn, and with consistency shell get there.

Roxy isnt looking for perfection.

Shes looking for someone who understands that love can rewrite a dogs story.

If you would like to meet Roxy, please fill out the application below (copy and paste to your browser) and we will get back with you as soon as we can.

https://form.jotform.com/211044942326146?

Adoption pays for all vetting...spay surgery, all vaccinations, a heart worm test. deworming, flea prevention and a microchip.
