1032 Indy's Story

Indy is fostered in Milwaukee, WI.

This happy girl is Indy! Indy is always very excited to hear people talking to her, especially when they arrive. She becomes wiggly and kissy! She is a velcro aussie that will follow you to the ends of the earth for a pet and a cuddle. Indy is a beautiful red tri female australian shepherd who just turned 4 years of age and currently weighs about 43 lbs.

This girl is eager to please and is very smart! So far she can sit, spin, and give paw! She would do very well with someone who would continue her training. She walks well on a leash and listens well to commands. Still working on waiting before crossing the street. Indy is crate trained and goes into her crate when asked. However, She is an early riser and would do well with someone who can give her time outside of her crate before going to work. As with any young aussies, she does need mental and physical stimulation. Indy could easily use 2 walks a day or even some doggy puzzles!

Indy can get a little jealous of her other furry friends when she isn't getting the attention, but she loves to play with the other dog at her foster home. Indy has been to doggy daycare and is very social with other dogs. She is in a foster home with several other dogs and does very well. Indy is still trying to understand toys and how to play with them. She is a good girl and is not a chewer. It took a few days for her to understand how to use our stairs so she is still quite the wrecking ball when she goes down!

Indy has not had any interactions with cats or children in her foster home but does not seem phased when we see kids playing on our walks. She loves everyone she meets and loves hard when she finds her person. Indy is wonderful in the car and would love nothing more than to accompany you everywhere, if you give her the chance!

Indy is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations and receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworms. She does require a committed adopter who is willing to devote 1 - 2 hours of mental and physical stimulation per day.

NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in. Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application. We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives. www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org
