1016 Hunter's Story

Hunter is being fostered in Joplin MO

Introducing Hunter! This adorable Mini American Shepherd (Mini Aussie) is a blue merle with stunning blue eyes. He is estimated to be 2 years of age and weighs about 37 lbs. Hunter was found as a stray and the finder wanted him to have a much better life. He was surrendered to our rescue and has been doing wonderful in foster care.

Hunter is a little on the shy and timid side, but he is a VERY sweet boy. He currently lives in a foster home with 3 other dogs of various sizes and 3 teenage boys, plus his foster parents. He prefers to stay in a quiet, protected area, which can be his crate or under a table. Hunter is exceptionally sweet and mild mannered and just wants a human to love.

Hunter is non-reactive to anything or anyone. He will need an adopter to continue building his confidence and working on his socialization. Hunter is crate trained and house trained. He has done great with grooming and car rides. He would do best in a home with a physically fenced yard and no children under 10 years of age.

Hunter is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization. For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.

NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in. Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application. We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.
