0923 Chance's Story

Chance is fostered in Ottumwa, IA.

This handsome fella was relinquished by his owner after they purchased a young puppy. Chance had ony been in this home for 9 months and was said to not be handling the children, the new puppy and the environment. Chance is (almost) 6 year male red tri Australian Shepherd, weighing approximately 60 lbs, but currently working on losing a little weight.

Chance has been nothing but respectful and is a WONDERFUL dog. He arrived about 10 lbs overweight, but he is slimming down to a more desirable weight. Chance is FANTASTIC with dogs of all sizes. He is not necessarily the playful type of guy, meaning that he doesn't play with dogs or toys. He is just fine being in the comfort of other dogs and people. He is even excellent with cats.

Chance is crate trained and house trained. He is excellent on leash and lives for being his daily walks. Chance is a bit shy, but will warm up quite nicely. He has been known to wade in the nearby pond.

Chance would make a wonderful candidate for a quieter environment with adopters who love to walk and would provide ample pets all day. Chance does not necessarily need another dog in the home but would be fine if there is one. We recommend no children under 12 years of age. Chance himself is a quiet, non-barking pup, so that is the type of environment he prefers as well.

Chance is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization. For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.

NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in. Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application. We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives. www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org
