Zoya's Story

Hello! I’m Zoey! I was a teen mom trying to survive on the streets with my two kittens when we were rescued by nice humans. I’ve been loving indoor life and ready to find a forever home now that my kittens have been adopted.

Everyone calls me a forever kitten because I’m so tiny. Sure, I might be vertically challenged and barely 7 pounds, but I’ve got big cat energy and have no problem keeping up with my foster siblings (including the dogs). Speaking of…my forever home must have a playful cat to be my bestie and help me continue to build confidence. I’ve already learned so much from copying my foster brother. He taught me that toys are fun, cheek scratchies feel amazing, and sleeping in the big human bed is the best!

In the meantime, my funny personality will keep you entertained. For example, I love sneaking up on my foster siblings (including the dogs) and pouncing on them when they least expect it! So fun. I’m also fluent in chirping and have full blown conversations with the birds outside the window. I’m starting to learn human language too - I recently learned that I can wake up foster mom from a dead sleep and get her to feed me by simply tapping her head…repeatedly.

If you are looking for a cat with the size and playfulness of a kitten that is also well-mannered and low maintenance like a mature lady, then I’m the one for you! And if you’re a gentle human who will let me blossom at my own pace and love me forever, then schedule a meet and greet because you could be the one for me!

Currently in foster care in Miracle Mile. Foster-to-adopt is always an available option and recommendation.

All Del Gato kitties are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for FIV/FeLv, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption.

To begin the application process, please fill out our application here: https://form.jotform.com/212117959297062

We will try our best to be in touch within 24-48 hours.

Thank you!
____________________
Del Gato Rescue is a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit cat rescue based in Los Angeles, CA. We are a handful of volunteers who work normal jobs by day and rescue cats on nights & weekends. We receive countless daily requests from the community for assistance with cats and kittens found outside in need of rescue.

We focus on rescuing friendly cats from the streets, getting them healthy and vetted in foster care, and finding their purrrfect forever home! We prevent hundreds of cats per year from entering our city shelters and being euthanized.

We also TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and vaccinate unadoptable/feral street cats, which we believe is the only solution to the root cause of the feline population crisis.

When space allows, we also pull death-row cats from local high kill shelters, work with them in foster care, get them up to date on their healthcare, and match them with their new forever family.

If you'd like to volunteer with us, fostering is a great way to help our cause, and it allows us space to save more kitties off the streets.
If you are unable to foster, we are also always looking for help with transportation to and from vet appointments.
Please send us an email at delgatorescue@gmail.com to be a part of our rescue community. Thanks for your support!
