ZIMBA's Story

I am 10 years old. My journey to shelter life has been difficult. My person, who brought me home as a kitten, passed. Having no family members to take me in, i went to live with a friend. I was doing good, occasionally getting zoomies reminding me of when I was a kitten! One night though I jumped on the bed and scratched my new person on her cheek. I did not realize that she was there. She got upset with me and brought me to the shelter. As I enter my senior years, I have become a mellow, quiet cat. I need a peaceful quiet home with a cat experienced person. A home as an only pet. I know I may need to wait. Taunton Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
**PLEASE CALL AHEAD FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO MEET PETS AT THE SHELTER. 508-822-1463** Adopt a "best friend" for life! Please remember that dogs and cats of all ages need and deserve happiness, love, and a home. In return, they will love you unconditionally for all of your years together. We adopt to New England Residents only and require current/past veterinarian references. An application is REQUIRED to adopt an animal. Vet references will be checked, as well as references for those who rent. Adoption of an animal will be based on APPROVED applications only. We do not accept debit/credit cards. Payment must be check or money order with proper ID or cash. If submitting an application for a dog, please email it to rdanielczyk@taunton-ma.gov or gasman6637@icloud.com Dogs are $200.00 and cats are $165.00 (kittens up to 6 months are $185.00). This price includes the spay/neuter, rabies shot, and other required vaccinations.
