Zeke's Story

Meet Zeke – Full of Personality, Play, and a Little Bit of Sass!

Zeke’s story began during a neighborhood TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) project, but it was clear from the start that this affectionate tabby wasn’t meant for street life. Too friendly to return outdoors, Zeke is now looking for a forever home where he can shine.

Zeke is a confident, social boy who loves to be part of the action. He’s playful, talkative, and full of character—and yes, a little bit bossy (in the most endearing way). He enjoys interactive play and even gives gentle love nibbles to show his affection.

He tends to do his own thing and doesn’t rely much on other cats for company, so he could be perfectly happy as a solo cat—especially in a home where someone is around to give him attention and playtime. Zeke can live with another cat, but it would need to be a confident, energetic playmate rather than a laid-back companion.

Zeke is FIV+, but that doesn’t slow him down one bit. He can live a long, healthy indoor life like any other cat. Because of his lively nature and love nibbles, Zeke would do best in an adult home.

If you’re looking for a cat with charm, energy, and a big personality, Zeke is your guy!

Zeke is currently in a foster home If you are interested in meeting him, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org.

Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

Animal House of South East Michigan, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Our adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten $195 for a pair of cats or kittens Please note that we do not do same day adoptions and all adoption fees are non-refundable. AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We are also flexible if more time is needed to determine if its the right fit. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
