Zachariah's Story

Zachariah is a 2-year-old brown and white tabby with a soft orange nose, a raccoon-striped tail, and the sweetest personality to match his good looks. He was rescued during a TNR (trap-neuter-return) project in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood, and it didn’t take long to realize he was meant for indoor life and companionship.

Zachariah has a neurological condition that makes him wobbly when he walks-—he can get around just fine (and even run!), but sometimes he flops over and prefers not to jump. He isn’t in any pain and has a happy, laid-back outlook on life. He’s not bothered one bit by his wobbliness, and you won’t be either—it only makes him more endearing.

This sweet guy loves being with people, especially if it means getting head scratches or curling up in a warm lap. He'll even reach out to your hand and pull it to his face to rub on you (super cute)! He’s calm, affectionate, and gentle, even letting the vet trim his nails without complaint.

Zachariah would do best in a home with some rugs or carpet for traction. He’d be happy as a solo cat or with another feline friend, and would likely do well with a cat-friendly dog or respectful kids.

He's a good eater, uses litter box consistently and has never had an accident in foster care. He’s been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea-treated, dewormed, and tested negative for FIV, FeLV, and parasites.

His adoption fee is $150 and goes toward helping other cats in need.
