YaoYao's Story

I’m Yaoyao, a 1 year old bold-striped tabby with ears like a little wildcat and a heart that took some time to unlock. At first, I wasn’t so sure about people, but once I gave in to pets—wow! I rolled back and forth trying to catch every hand at once, like I couldn’t believe what I’d been missing. My sister Meimei tried to tell me, but I had to discover it myself. Now I’m a loyal, purry little good girl who loves her people deeply.

I’m shy with strangers and don’t like to show off. Your friends probably won’t even know you have a cat until I’ve seen them plenty of times and decided they’re safe. But when I greet you, I do it with my tail raised so high it curls over my back, proud and full of love.

I adore adult cats and would love a calm feline companion. Kittens? I’ll grumble at them, but I never do anything—I just prefer grown-up playmates. My favorite buddy right now is a 9-lb rough-and-tumble guy who wrestles like crazy (Mom keeps telling him to stop trying to eat me, but I think it’s fun). I’ve never met a dog, so no promises there. Kids aren’t my style; I’d do best in an adult home or one with older, gentle children.

My favorite treasures are toys, especially my squirrel furs. I proudly carry them through the house like stolen loot, and no one else gets to touch them until I’m done. Watching me trot around with my prize will keep you smiling every day.

Last year, I developed Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), which is a very rare mutation of a common cat virus. I’ve successfully undergone a full round of treatments plus a lengthy period of observation, and I am ready to live a healthy life and start my next chapter in a forever home!

I’m spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, tested for FIV/FeLV, and up-to-date on vaccines. I’m ready to join my forever crew—a family who understands that the best companions are the ones worth waiting for.

If you're interested in adopting, the first step is to fill out the application here:
http://bit.ly/3VDJfhm
