Xena came to New Hope Animal Rescue from a shelter with a severely damaged eye that, unfortunately, could not be saved. Her remaining eye has a cataract, but after evaluation, her veterinarians do not believe she requires any additional medical care for her eyes at this time. She has adapted beautifully and doesn't let her vision define who she is.<br/><br/>Xena is a gentle soul who takes a little time to warm up to new people and surroundings, but once she feels safe, her sweet personality shines through. <br/>She does not prefer the company of other cats and small children scare her, <br/>She would be best in a home with no other cats and not young children (gentile kids over 11 would be best) <br/>One of her favorite things in the world is curling up in her little tunnel toy, happily making biscuits as she purrs away. Those quiet moments are pure Xena—peaceful, content, and full of love.<br/><br/>She isn't looking for a busy household or constant excitement. What Xena dreams of is a calm, quiet home with patient people who understand that trust is earned and that the deepest bonds often take a little time to grow.
