Meet Xander
Xander is coming soon......
This sweet little special needs baby will be available around early August after he’s big enough to be neutered. When Xander was impounded at a high volume shelter he had a string wrapped tightly around one of his back legs so the facility sent him to be evaluated by a vet. Once the string was removed the poor little guy’s damaged paw came off with it and the vet determined the rest of his leg needed to be amputated. We don't know exactly what happened to cause his injury but are thankful that this sweet boy came through his major surgery with flying colors. Xander is a little shy and is getting used to walking, running and jumping with only three legs. He loves to be cuddled, kissed and loved on. His foster sister is Phoebe and she also had a hurt paw as a kitten. Because of his small size and missing leg Xander needs a quiet forever home without young children or active dogs.
Second Chance Pets is a foster-based organization so all animals live in foster homes throughout the area. Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Petco Clear Lake store located at 2410 Bay Area Boulevard (at Space Center.) The adoption fee starts at $95. All cats are tested for FIV and Leukemia, fully vaccinated, fixed, dewormed, defleaed, and microchipped. If interested in one of our cats please feel free to complete an application, found on our website, and return it to us for pre-approval. We do not have a phone number so please e-mail us or come visit with us on Saturday!
