Wowie (working cat) *Adoption fee sponsored*'s Story
Wowie is, little by little, beginning to trust humans. She might rather get any mice or vermin than snuggle on the couch. But if you give her a tube treat, she'll meow at you every time she sees you! She's definitely still a working cat, she just has a bit more sweetness to her than the normal working cat!

Working cats are a safe, inexpensive way to control the rodent population while providing a home for a cat that cannot be adopted out to an indoor home because they are not socialized to humans. **NoVa Cats Advocacy will cover adoption fees of any working cats at the Clarke County Humane Foundation, AND provide transport within a 1-hour distance of Berryville, VA.**

WHAT YOU SUPPLY: Working cats need to be supplied with fresh water, food, and straw or other warm shelter daily. They require a minimum of 30 days crated in their final "office" in order to acclimate to the area. (More info about care in the link below.)

WHAT SHELTER SUPPLIES: All working cat pairs are neutered/spayed, ear tipped, and microchipped, and are up to date on rabies and distemper vaccines.
More info about acclimating and caring for barn cats here: https://loveyourferalfelines.com/feral-barn-cats

Working cats may be housed off the adoption floor to reduce their stress levels; please ask a staff person to meet them.
