Woonsocket Spirit Cats!'s Story

Meet Our Spirit Cats!

These special cats are looking for patient, understanding adopters who will love them for who they are. Rescued from a large hoarding situation, our "Spirit Cats" are sensitive, under-socialized, and still learning that the world can be a safe and gentle place.

Some may be curious and playful right away, while others prefer to observe from a cozy hiding spot until they feel secure. What they all share is a deep love for other cats. They truly thrive with feline companionship, which is why we are seeking homes that will adopt in pairs (or more!). To support this, we're offering a special BOGO adoption fee-two cats for $175-so they can continue to feel safe and supported together.

While they may not be the kind of cats who curl up in your lap, these cats have big, funny personalities that shine in their own quiet ways. With time, patience, and a predictable routine, many begin to blossom-showing curiosity, playfulness, and even forming deep bonds with their people.

The Basics:

- Estimated ages range from 1 to 5 years
- Spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines
- Negative for FIV/FeLV
- Microchipped

Their Ideal Home:

- Calm, low-traffic environment
- No young children
- A dedicated space where they can decompress
- Adopters who respect boundaries and go at the cat's pace

These cats often do best in homes where expectations are centered around giving them comfort-not changing who they are. Progress may be slow and subtle, but incredibly meaningful.

If you're someone who finds joy in earning an animal's trust and watching them grow at their own pace, a Spirit Cat might be your perfect match.

We encourage interested adopters to make an appointment to spend time in their room and get to know them-you might just find your pair.

For questions or to schedule a visit, please email cathy.simonini@rispca.org
