Woody the cool-and-loyal cowboy!'s Story

Hello there, friend! Thanks for stopping by!

At Hobbes Haven our mission is to help shape & support a better life for feral & stray cat colonies in our varying communities of the Columbia River Gorge Oregon.

We want to introduce you to Woody (don't forget his bonded sister Jessie!)-

A charming, loyal and affectionate boy- he truly is like the Woody from Toy Story. He likes to get the attention but will happily share it with his sister; he even shares his turn on the cat wheel as he runs alongside his sister Jessie. Woody has flourished into being a trusting and affectionate boy, who will lay spread out like a pencil in the middle of the floor instead of finding a hiding spot or cozy cave. He has incredibly shiny and soft fur who likes to be brushed and tolerates his regular ear cleanings. He is attentive and curious and likes to observe the other kittens playing before he jumps in. All of his jellybean toes are black, I've never seen that before, almost like a little bear! He is gentle with his hand and doesn't play bite. He likes to lay on your legs or back when you're sleeping or relaxing and will join you in a nice cat nap on top of you if you don't move too much! He cozies up with his sister Jessie and has the zoomies chasing each other around from the cat shelves to the cat three to the cat wheel and under the table then back to the cat shelves and around and around they go! He was rescued with his sister Jessie and 4 other kittens at a site of 30+ feral cats.
Woody is neutered, has received his first-year rabies vaccine, 3 series of kitten FVRCP vaccines, been dewormed 3-4 times and think he was born around late September 2025 based on his weight and vet assessments.

Woody was lucky to have been rescued alongside one of his sisters, Jessie; they both faced some of the harshest conditions born as feral kittens entering the fall season near the base of Mt. Hood. Due to them being rescued together and tamed for domestication alongside one another, they have endured growth together that has bonded them. Our goal is for Woody to be adopted with his bonded pair and almost twin like-sister Jessie.

We hope to find families that will keep in touch with Hobbes Haven and update us with pictures and videos of our rescued angels! Remember that many times we have been fostering these kittens for many months, and that is another reason you know Hobbes Haven is a good-hearted organization to support, because our goal is to find the RIGHT homes NOT a home RIGHT NOW.
Here at Hobbes Haven we focus on supporting the health and well-being of feral and stray cat colonies via T-N-R-M; during out initial visits to a site, if we encounter kittens or cats young enough or friendly enough to domesticate, we rescue them from those sites and work with them directly to get them healthy and ready for a second chance at a life as a part of a family and a home. Our rescued cats and kittens are unique being that they were born as feral cats, meaning the time it took to domesticate them may have been more involved than others. When you support Hobbes Haven via your adoption and donations, you are helping a bigger ripple effect, because you are supporting existing feral cat colonies stop their cycle of suffering by getting all cats sterilized and vaccinated, but also offering a very rare second chance to a few lucky ones.

At Hobbes Haven, your adoption fee helps us cover this kitten's start-of-life veterinary care at our collaborating veterinary clinic here in the Columbia River Gorge- this is a transparent one to one transaction, absolutely no revenue is made from this.

Up to the point of adoption, Hobbes Haven has covered the following out of pocket: FVRCP vaccines (most of the time 3 out of 3 of the first kitten series), deworming, antifungal bath/s, veterinary treatment for ailments as kittens (URI), food, cat supplies, entertainment etc- this is why your donations matter and help make a difference!
