Winter's Story
Meet Winter! This sweet, older gentleman came to us with his two friends Izzy and Missy. Winter is a sweet, older soul who who prefers a quieter household where he can spend his days lounging around and getting lots of pets. He has lived with dogs and cats in the past and may do well with lower energy pets with a slow introduction.

The cat you are adopting is very shy. Patience and a gentle approach will be necessary to form a bond and help this cat feel that they are safe in their new environment. This means that the cat is likely to not want to interact with you at first and will need time to settle in and relax. It is likely to take weeks to months for this cat to become comfortable in your home. Even once settled, they may always be a shy cat who runs from visitors.

In order to have the best chance at creating a lasting bond with your new cat, you must go at their pace. When you get home, this cat should be set up in one room of your home, with a door that will stay shut while the cat adjusts. They should be offered a variety of foods and plenty of appropriate hiding places to help them feel safe during this transition. The cat should not be let out of their room until they seem like they are making progress and seem to want to explore more of the house.

Ready To Adopt?

You have two options:

#1- VISIT IN PERSON
Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm.
