Winona's Story

This beautiful girl has a story that begins with heartbreak -

After her owner tragically passed away, she and the other cat in the home were left outside to fend for themselves. Unfortunately, Winona had given birth to a few kittens while outside, but they did not survive. For weeks, Winona braved the cold until compassionate neighbors were able to catch her and bring her to safety. It was a confusing and scary time for a cat who had once known the comfort of a home.

When she arrived, the shelter environment was overwhelming for her, and she shut down in her kennel. But once she moved into foster care, her true personality began to bloom.

She isn't the type to rush into your arms on day one. She needs a couple of days to settle in and feel safe. But once she does, she is affectionate and melts under gentle attention - especially if belly rubs are involved. Yes, she's one of those rare cats who truly loves them.

She would do best in a calm home without dogs. She has shown that she prefers male cats over females, but she loves to run around and play. Most of all, she needs a patient adopter who understands that trust is something she gives carefully. She has already endured more change than any cat should. Now she's simply looking for consistency, kindness, and a forever home where she will never be left behind again.

Winona is a petite girl, weighing at 6lbs. Estimated to be 1 year and 7 months old. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations and flea prevention, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative.
