Wink26's Story

DOB 9/18/19 - Wink is a lovely special needs cat looking for the perfect home. Wink is the sweetest cat in the world and would do well alone or with other cats, dogs or children as long as she is not chased or cornered. Wink loves people and enjoys a lot of lap time and cuddles. She is extremely friendly and is a confident cat. Wink does well with other cats as long as they aren't aggressive towards her. She also likes to play.
Wink came to us with a severe case of stomatitis and had a dental in April 2026 where she had 14 teeth removed. The remaining teeth are not affected by it at this time but she does get some pain in her mouth and needs to have an anti-inflammatory injection every 5 weeks to keep her feeling comfortable. This costs approximately $125 each time. She may also need future dental work if her remaining teeth become affected. We are looking for an adopter for Wink with a strong vet history so we can be confident she will get the regular care she needs.
Wink has beautiful long hair that needs to be combed and brushed regularly so it doesn't mat. It is not hard to care for if done consistently. She had an eye removed as a kitten but has adapted to it fine and it doesn't slow her down at all. Her remaining eye is healthy and has no issues.
Wink is an absolutely adorable and wonderful cat that would be a great addition to the right home.

Second Hand Purrs's Adoption Policy
Our cats and kittens are $100 for one and $160 for two cats. (Cash only at the time of pickup) Adopters must be at least 21 years of age. All of our cats have been tested for FIV (Feline AIDS) and FeLV (Feline Leukemia), and have had their stool tested for the existence of parasites (although we cannot guarantee there are absolutely no parasites since they may not be shedding at the time of testing). We keep the cats and kittens up to date with any boosters they may need. We spay or neuter all cats and kittens over 6 months of age and they receive their first rabies booster at that time as well. You would need to come in, pick out who you would like to adopt, and fill out an application form. We then call your vet for their records on your animal(s) and do a courtesy background check to make sure there are no serious issues. Once you have been approved by the board, one of the volunteers will contact you. Our shelter is open on Thursdays 6pm to 9pm and on Saturdays 10am to 3pm. All adoptions must be in the State of Wisconsin.
