Wilson's Story

My story hasn't always been easy, but I promise it has a happy ending — I just need your help writing it.

I was found back in February 2022 with a pretty badly injured leg. The people who rescued me think another animal got to me, but thanks to some wonderful care, I healed up completely and have full use of my leg today. I was born around 2018, so I'm a distinguished older gentleman now — and I think I've only gotten better with age.

Shortly after I was found, I was diagnosed with something called FIV. I know that can sound scary, but please hear me out before you scroll past — I've had a lot of people do that, and it stings every time. FIV can only be passed through deep bite wounds, so as long as everyone in the home is friendly and getting along, your other cats would have nothing to worry about. I'm a lover, not a fighter, I promise.

What I am is a whole lot of affectionate. I live for human attention — pets, cuddles, just being near my people. The staff at the shelter have always had a soft spot for me, and I'd like to think it's because I give really good head bumps.

I've been at the shelter for four years now. Four years of watching other cats come and go and find their families. I'm not bitter about it — I just really, really hope my turn is coming soon. That's why I'm moving into rescue, to give myself the best possible chance of finding my forever home.

I'd love a calm, quiet home — one with older kids or just adults who want a devoted companion. I'd be happiest as the only cat, or with a fellow easygoing kitty who just wants to coexist peacefully. Mostly, I dream of a warm spot to curl up in and someone to come home to me every day.

I've waited a long time. I've got so much love left to give. Could that home be yours?

--
Our adoption fee includes spay/neuter and microchipping for all animals. Our adoption fee is $300 per cat.

All have had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer and treated for fleas and ear mites if needed. All cats are tested for FeLV/FIV at six months of age. If you are interested in meeting this cat, please fill out an application on our website!

https://www.therescuepack.org/cat-adoption-application

If interested in one of our animals, please fill out an application on our website. The application will then be reviewed by our applications team and passed on to the foster of the animal that was applied for. The foster will then review the application and, if deemed a good fit, will initiate a phone call with the applicant. If, after the phone call, both applicant and foster feel it is a good fit, a meeting with the animal will be scheduled. Once the meeting happens, and the approval from both foster and applicant are given to move forward - our adoptions team will send an electronic payment link to the adopter. Once payment has been received, our adoption contract will be sent along with vet records. The foster and the adopter will agree on an official adoption date - and the animal will now live happily ever after! If an applied for animal is no longer available, our team will assist in trying to find another good fit! If an application is not a good fit, the applicant will also be notified.
