Willa's Story

Willa was Born: July 2023
I have two great loves in this life: people and perches. Everything else is details.

My name is Willa, and I'll admit — I didn't always make the best first impression. When I came in off the streets as a stray, I was shy. Uncertain. The world had been a lot, and I needed a minute to decide if I could trust it again. Turns out I could. Turns out I really, really wanted to. Because here's what was true the whole time, even when I was too nervous to show it: I love people. I have always loved people. I just needed to know you were safe before I let you see it.Once I did? I'm yours.

When I'm not soaking up human company, you'll find me exactly where any self-respecting cat belongs — elevated. A cat tree summit. A sun-warmed windowsill. Somewhere high enough to survey my kingdom with the quiet dignity it deserves. I lived among over a hundred cats at the shelter and managed just fine, but honestly, they were never really the point. The people were. The perches were. Those are my things.

I've been waiting in an overcrowded rural shelter, a little overlooked, a little underestimated — and I have been so patient. But I deserve more than waiting. I deserve a calm home where the energy is gentle and the windowsills are wide.

No small children, please — not because I'm difficult, but because I'm the kind of girl who blooms in quiet. Older kids who understand a cat's need for peace? We could absolutely work something out. Other cats are fine, or I can be your one and only. I genuinely don't mind either way.

What I do mind — in the very best possible way — is finally having people and perches of my very own.
I think it's time, don't you?

--
Our adoption fee includes spay/neuter and microchipping for all animals. Our adoption fee is $300 per cat.

All have had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer and treated for fleas and ear mites if needed. All cats are tested for FeLV/FIV at six months of age. If you are interested in meeting this cat, please fill out an application on our website!

https://www.therescuepack.org/cat-adoption-application

If interested in one of our animals, please fill out an application on our website. The application will then be reviewed by our applications team and passed on to the foster of the animal that was applied for. The foster will then review the application and, if deemed a good fit, will initiate a phone call with the applicant. If, after the phone call, both applicant and foster feel it is a good fit, a meeting with the animal will be scheduled. Once the meeting happens, and the approval from both foster and applicant are given to move forward - our adoptions team will send an electronic payment link to the adopter. Once payment has been received, our adoption contract will be sent along with vet records. The foster and the adopter will agree on an official adoption date - and the animal will now live happily ever after! If an applied for animal is no longer available, our team will assist in trying to find another good fit! If an application is not a good fit, the applicant will also be notified.
