Weston's Story
Meet handsome boy Weston!
This stunningly gorgeous cat is Weston, a 1 and a half year old neutered Snowshoe mix. Weston is at the shelter through no fault of his own, when his owner found they did not have time to properly care for their pets. Weston was surrendered to us alongside his sister, Novella, who has her own listing. The pair do not have to be adopted out together, but if you are potentially interested in a duo, there is a discount for adopting two pets at the same time!
Poor Weston is feeling very nervous at the shelter, and it’s going to take time for him to fully open up. He’s not being aggressive or mean with us, but he is hiding a lot and can get grumpy if we push his boundaries too much. He’s still getting to know us, and it will just take time for him to fully come out of his shell.
Weston has lived with his sister his whole life, and they get along just fine. His previous owner had only had Weston for a month, so he didn’t have too much information on their history. He believed they had been around some dogs and kids in their home prior to him getting them, but we have not seen them around any. With Weston being nervous as he adjusts, it will be important to supervise him around any children in his future home to ensure they aren’t pushing his boundaries before he has the chance to get used to them.
Weston has gorgeous one fur, and he will need help keeping it in tip-top shape. His first day at the shelter we had to give him a bath, and while he tried his best to be brave, it was definitely a stressful experience for both him and the employee! Frequent brushing will really help keeping his fur under control, and he may need the occasional help cleaning himself up if the longer hairs trail into his litter box.
Weston has received his first round of vaccinations and is litter box trained. While he’s scared at the shelter, we really believe that once he’s out of this chaotic environment and back in a stable home he will really bloom! If you think his handsome boy could be the cat for you, come out and meet him today!
