Wesson's Story

Meet Brother Wesson: A Cat of Faith, Tradition, and Fried Chicken

This handsome orange and white tabby gentleman carries himself with the dignified bearing of an old-timey Southern Baptist preachercomplete with strong convictions and an even stronger appreciation for a good potluck spread.
Brother Wesson is a cat who knows what he likes, and what he likes is consistency. Change is not in his vocabulary unless it's been approved by at least four committee meetings and is backed by extensive scriptural support. He believes in the old ways, the tried-and-true routines, and a life lived in the slow, predictable lane where a cat can count on his supper coming at the same time every blessed day.

Speaking of supperthis boy has a passion for eating that would put any church social to shame. Potluck meals are his absolute favorite, and he has a particular fondness for anything bearing the sacred names "chicken" or "fried" (preferably both). If you're looking for a dining companion who appreciates the finer and fatter things in lifelike second helpings and the occasional taste of something crispy and deep fried Brother Wesson is your man.

Wesson would thrive in a calm, structured household where a hushed reverence reigns, routines are respected and mealtimes are sacred. He's perfect for someone who appreciates a cat with stalwart character, fiery convictions, and a healthy appetite. No sudden moves, no rearranging the furniture without proper notice, and definitely no skipping meals, unless you want to hear him start preaching to the choir.... because he firmly believes the only good change is the kind found in the offering plate on Sundays!

If you would like to know more about this sweet and soulful Southern gentleman, fill out an application to be put in touch with his foster mom, because Wesson is ready to bless your home and life with his purrfectly pastoral presence.

If interested in meeting Wesson, please submit an application here: https://fjcasp.wufoo.com/forms/adoption-application/

Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets's Adoption Policy
At FJCASP, we dedicate a great deal of love, time, and resources to caring for our animals, and our top priority is to see them go to permanent, loving homes with people who have the knowledge and means to provide proper care. Adoption Fee: $100–$150 Vet References Required We require that all potential adopters provide veterinary references. This allows us to confirm that any current or past pets have been kept up to date on vaccinations, preventatives, and are spayed/neutered. Most veterinary offices are familiar with this request. Our goal is to ensure that our animals are placed in homes where they will remain safe, healthy, and properly cared for. Long-Term Commitment Adopting a pet is a serious, long-term commitment. We want all potential adopters to understand their responsibilities and be prepared to care for an animal for its lifetime. Home Requirements To provide a safe environment, we require that adopters provide: - Proper shelter for the animal - Understanding of how to introduce a new pet to children and existing animals -Commitment to keeping the animal as an indoor pet Adoption Approval All adoptions must be finalized and approved by the FJCASP Board. This ensures oversight by experienced individuals who can confirm that all parties understand their responsibilities and that the animal’s welfare is prioritized. Adopter Responsibilities It is part of our adoption agreement that all medical treatments, veterinary costs, preventatives, food, and shelter are the sole responsibility of the adopter. Our goal is to place each animal in a loving, safe, and permanent home, and these guidelines help us ensure that every adoption is successful for both the pet and the adopter.
