Wendy's Story

Hello! My name is Wendy and I am a beautiful female domestic shorthair cat with white and orange fur and golden eyes. I also have an extra thumb on my front paws, making them look like adorable little mittens.

I used to live in a shelter north of the city and now live with my foster mom and her roommate.

I can be a little shy in a new environment but once Im comfortable I blossom into a social, curious and affectionate girl. I enjoy napping in cozy cubbies and quiet corners, but Im no recluse! I love being part of the action and am happiest when keeping my humans company.

I adore attention and will happily hop onto the couch or bed for pets and belly rubs before curling up beside my humans for a relaxing evening.

Im also very playful and my foster mom says I can turn almost anything into a game. I especially love chasing springs down the hall, wrestling with a catnip toy or determinedly stalking a string toy. And while I may be an excellent hunter, Im very gentle, keeping my claws and teeth soft when playing with toys or interacting with people.

Im a talkative kitty, especially in the morning, but my meow is quiet. I have a healthy appetite and enjoy human company when I eat and drink.

I like other cats and it would be great if I had a kitty friend to play with in my new home. My foster mom thinks Id also be great with kids. Ive never lived with a dog, but, given enough time and patience, I adapt well to new things.

I am spayed and ready to go to my forever home. If you are looking for a social, lively and loving pet, we might be a perfect match!

A note from Wendys foster mom: Wendy is a friendly and gentle cat who loves affection and playtime. She is the perfect combination of sweet companion and playful friend and will be a wonderful addition to her new home.

Wendy would do well as an only cat or in a home with another cat.

Abbey Cat Adoptions's Adoption Policy
**Kitten Policy** Please note: Kittens require the companionship of other kittens and the younger the kitten the more this is so. It is a developmental need. If you do not have animals at home and you only want one cat please look at kittens 6 months or older. By this time in their life we know which cats need the companionship of other animals and which ones would prefer to live without other animals. We provide an adoption service and want to match the right cat with the right home. It is against Abbey Cat policy to adopt a single kitten under the age of 6 months to a home without other young cats/kittens for company. Please bear this in mind when calling to adopt. *** Due to an unprecedented demand (especially for kittens) we regret that we are unable to respond by phone to all of the applications we are currently receiving. We are only able at this time to phone those applicants who have sent in an online adoption application, can provide a vet reference and their criteria matches what the particular cat or kittens' needs are. We regret any inconvenience caused as we do our best to meet the overwhelming demand we are currently experiencing*****
