Wemby's Story
Meet Wemby! Wemby came to us as a teeny tiny undersized kitten. He should have been around 2lbs, but only weighed a little over 1! One of our volunteers is a Spurs fan, so we gave him a name that we hoped would help him grow up big and strong. And, thanks to a little help from a great foster, it worked! Wemby thrived in his foster home - so much so that when we found another kitten, Julian, who was having trouble gaining weight, we decided to bring Wemby in for the assist. Having Wemby around was night and day for Julian, and they've been inseparable ever since.

Wemby is definitely the leader of the two. He is super extroverted, curious, and loves to explore. He's never met a stranger, or found a cranny he didn't want to crawl into, dust bunnies and all. He's always the first to dart out of the foster room or chow down on their morning wet food. He leads the charge into any new situation, and then circles back to make sure Julian is following. Wemby climbs, runs, and jumps like a professional athlete. He is a typical orange cat, in that his legs often outrun his single braincell. He does a lot of falling off of things or getting stuck, but it never seems to dampen his spirit.

Wemby might not be the smartest cookie, but he has a heart of gold. He is VERY people-oriented. Even with Julian to keep him company, he still prefers to spend about 50% of his free-running time glued to his foster's face. He will literally sit cheek-to-cheek with her or on her chest, and cry if she doesn't have both hands actively petting him. He loves being held, whether on his back, tucked in his foster's arms, or on her shoulder like a parrot. He's a spoiled little guy who thinks the world globe-trots around him.

Wemby plays very rough with Julian, but is always gentle with his foster. He never really went through the terrible biting phase that some kittens do. We think he is truly grateful for being saved and is determined to pay back that bit of kindness with his whole heart.

Wemby does have one catch, likely as a result of his poor nutrition as a young kitten - he is predisposed to developing urinary crystals. Left untreated, these can cause potty accidents or blockages, which can be very dangerous. However, the crystals can be totally managed by his vet-approved urinary food diet. He loves both the kibble and wet food, so would be fine with either or a mixture of both. We think that's more than a fair price to pay for this boy's golden heart.

Wemby requires a kitty friend (or friends!) in his forever home, for companionship and playtime. Trust us, you will never have a moment to yourself again if he does not have a friend to distract him - he wants someone's undivided attention at all times. The few times he and Julian have been separated, he cried from dawn til dusk. We would love to see him and Julian go together if possible, but we think he could bond fine with other cats or kittens, as long as they like to wrestle. We think he would be fine with gentle kids. He has not been tested with dogs.

Wemby is estimated to be 6 months old as of September 2026. He has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. With an approved application, his adoption fee is $106. We would also do a two-for-one for him and Julian, to keep this dynamite duo together forever.

If you are interested in adopting this particular dog or puppy, please see our Adoption Guidelines at http://www.humanesocietyall.com/applications/ .
