Walker Texas Ranger's Story

Walker Texas Ranger was found by a kind person on one of the coldest days possible! He is what is known as a "wobbly" cat or a cat that has Cerebellar Hypoplasia which is a developmental condition in which the cerebellum fails to develop properly. The cerebellum is the portion of the brain that controls fine motor skills, balance, and coordination. The condition is not painful or contagious and Walker does well. However, it does lead to some limitations and special needs for this guy. It is best if Walker does not have to do stairs or be around stairs as he does not have enough balance to safely use them. It may also be easier for Walker to walk on carpets instead of smooth floors such as wood, tile, or linoleum. It would also be ideal if his potential adopters had experience with cats that have CH. He does use the litter pan but sometimes he does miss it, so a pad in the general area of his pan is helpful! He loves his food but due to intention tremors (a part of his condition) can be somewhat messy and knock food out of the bowl. Walker is a lovable guy and loves attention! He would love to find his loving forever home soon! He is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, FIV/Felv tested, and microchipped.
Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter
5051 Letterkenny Road West
Chambersburg, PA 17201
Kennel License #2090
To Adopt: https://cvas-pets.org/
