Waffles's Story
My name is Waffles.I didnÆt come here because I was bad. I didnÆt come here because I stopped being loved. I came here because my body kept letting me down.My previous owner surrendered me after months of trying to figure out why I was always getting sick. I vomited often, and even though they took me to the vet, no one could find a clear answer. Not having an explanation didnÆt make it easier. Eventually, my care became more than they could handle, and I lost my home.I donÆt understand what I did wrong. I only know that one day I had a family, and the next I was placed in a carrier and brought somewhere unfamiliar, hoping someone else might succeed where they couldnÆt.I have a sensitive stomach and I need things done a certain way. Dry food doesnÆt agree with me. Wet food is easier, and I eat it slowly from a feeder so it doesnÆt make me sick. When my meals are managed with care and patience, I feel better Ś but it takes someone willing to listen to what my body needs.I am spayed, so there are no adoption restrictions for me. IÆm just a cat who needs understanding more than anything. I didnÆt choose to be surrendered. I didnÆt choose to have a body that makes people worry. IÆm still here, still gentle, still hoping that someone will see me and decide IÆm worth the extra effort. All I want is a home that wonÆt give up on me when things get hard.
