UPDATE 7/11/2026<br/>Waddle Doo has had her spay and enucleation surgeries and has come through with flying colors. She continues to be confident and friendly and loves WonTon, her one-eyed foster sister. They zoom around the house, both expertly navigating stairs and obstacles. <br/><br/>Est. DOB: April 15, 2026<br/><br/>(The last photo is of Waddle as a kitten pre-eye surgery.)<br/><br/><br/><br/>HISTORY<br/>Waddle Doo was found in a box with her two siblings on the side of the road by EMS, who then took them to a rural shelter. Concerned about her eye, the shelter put out a plea for a rescue to pull her out of the shelter environment ASAP. <br/><br/>After vet exams, it was determined that Waddle Doo has micropthalmia, a condition where one eye is underdeveloped due to illness or congenital defect. It's there. It's just super tiny and non-functional. When she is old enough for surgery, Waddle-Doo will have an enucleation to remove any residual tissue that may cause issues in the future and have the opening closed. She sees great out of the other eye.<br/><br/>Waddle Doo is a typical Tortie so far. Independent. Adventurous. Confident. Food-motivated. She is also super snuggly, as most month-old kittens are. She won't be available for adoption until after her surgery, at least another month, but pre-adoption applications are being accepted. She would need another cat/kitten sibling as she cries when left alone. <br/><br/>Check back here or follow us on FB for updates on Waddle Doo's progress. <br/><br/>Est. DOB 4/8/2026<br/><br/><br/>WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard-to-place animals.<br/><br/>If the cat is under the age of 1 year old or has health issues, a vet reference is required, which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name.<br/><br/>ADOPTION FEE OF $140 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip FIV/FeLV test, any other medical that may be required while in rescue. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap, so thank you for understanding and helping us save as many as possible.<br/><br/>We only do adoptions on Saturday, and not all animals are able to attend. If you would like to see a specific animal, please let us know via email and we will try to accommodate.
