wHissPurr's Story

wHissPurr was found scavenging for food at a feral colony in Glendale scared, hungry, and alone until experienced trappers brought her safely into rescue. She's a cautious girl who startles easily and will do best in a calmer home where she can build trust at her own pace. With treats, patience, and gentle handling, she blossoms into a total sweetheart who sleeps on her fosters bed and seeks affection when she feels safe. She loves wand toys, noisy toys in the early morning, and cat TV. She also spent a few weeks in a respite foster home with a large, gentle dog and did well. Shed also do nicely with an older, calm cat who won't overwhelm her. Once she feels loved, she melts into soft purrs the perfect mix of wHiss and Purr.<br/><br/>wHissPurr is spayed, microchipped, FVRCP vaccinated, and has tested negative for FeLV and FIV.<br/><br/>!!! It is the policy of Desert Paws Rescue that all potential cat adopters complete a Cat Adoption Consultation Form and an interview with a Desert Paws representative in order to be considered as a forever home for our cats and kittens. Completion of the application and interview process does not guarantee an adoption approval or guarantee the adoption of a particular cat or kitten. Desert Paws Rescue is a privately run, all-volunteer, non-profit organization and reserves the right to refuse any adoption that is not in the best interest of the cat or kitten, based on our principles, policies, and standards. Desert Paws Rescue will determine the best home for each cat or kitten based on the application and interview process. After review of the adoption consultation form and the completion of the interview with a Desert Paws representative, Desert Paws Rescue may recommend a different cat or kitten that is more suitable to your household.
