Vicinity's Story

Hi, my name is Vicinity! I'm a RED pawprint, which means I need an experienced home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Affectionate, easily overstimulated, playful
-Can Live with Cats: No thank you! Vicinity does not like other cats.
-Can Live with Dogs: Unknown history, may do OK with a cat-savvy dog and slow, structured introductions
-Can Live with Kids: Cat-experienced, and teenaged or older only please!
-Needs Indoor Only Home: Not required but always highly recommended.
-History of Litter Box Issues: No
-Energy Level: Medium-High
-Bite History: No
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes, a spay

Vicinity is a sweet and funny girl, who definitely has a tendency to become overstimulated. She's great at showing it with body language first, but will not hesitate to use her teeth and claws if pushed! It is important she goes to a home with cat experience, so her body language cues do not go unnoticed. When her boundaries are respected, she is a total snuggle bug, and so fun to play with. She purrs like a motorboat and is a catnip fanatic!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
